Physical Causes
In most cases, infertility is the result of aquired, and not hereditary, conditions. Whereas in 1970, still about 90% of the women and men were under the age of 30 when their first baby was born, today already more than a quarter of the couples trying for a baby are over the age of 30.
Female fertility begins to decrease already from the age of 30, and even more so from the age of 35 and 40. Sperm production and quality slowly diminishes from the age of 40.
