Cryopreservation
The possibilty that more egg cells are fertilised than can be transferred inside the uterine cavity during an IVF cycle cannot be ruled out completely. Therefore the opportunity exists to freeze and store embryos for transfer later on in life.
This approved technique is called cryopreservation and can also be used with sperm cells.
