Many of our clients are couples from neighbouring countries.
This is because legal regulations concerning IVF treatment are not the same in every country.
In Germany, Italy and Switzerland, for example, embryos must be transferred inside the uterus after a maximum of three days of incubation. In Austria, embryos are allowed to be cultured in an incubator for five to six days, until they reach the so called blastocyst stage and hatch out of the egg cell.
Advantage 1: At the blastocyst stage, the selection of the most viable embryo can be performed more accurately.
Advantage 2: The implantation of the embryo into the uterine lining ( endometrium) takes place on day four to five just as in a naturally conceived pregnancy.
Advantage 3: Embryos are not lost that easily, pregnancy rates are significantly higher.
